There are twenty three photographic plates taken with the 36-inch 'Yapp' reflector at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. Descriptions of hundreds of features. An interesting reference!

A guide to lunar observation with pratical advice based on an extensive background knowledge. It includes selection of equipment for visual observation, CCD imaging, video imaging and drawing. The largest section discusses many highlighted features with photographic plates and detailed sketches. If you want to learn to draw lunar features, this is an excellent text.



Mapping and Naming the Moon
Ewen A. Whitaker - Cambridge University Press - 1999 - 242 pp.

A historical reference tracing the origins and evolution of naming lunar features, such as craters, mountains, valleys and lunar "seas". Lunar maps expanding four centuries are wonderfully illustrated and thoroughly explained. An interesting reference for the historically minded.
